| Memorial Healthcare Taps HIE Solution Posted: 20 Jan 2010 06:11 AM PST Memorial Healthcare System , a four-hospital, 1,500-bed organization located in Fort Myers, Fla., is deploying San Diego-based Axolotl Corp. ’s Elysium Exchange suite of solutions to securely access and share clinical data between physician practices and medical staff. The System will utilize Elysium Exchange to clinically network its hospitals’ health information with disparate EMR systems in physician practices, enabling the exchange of referrals, laboratory results, radiology reports and other patient data, says the company. Memorial Healthcare is the public, non-profit provider serving south Broward County. The network has more than 10,000 employees and includes the following facilities: Memorial Regional Hospital, Memorial Regional Hospital South, Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, Memorial Hospital West, Memorial Hospital Miramar, Memorial Hospital Pembroke and Memorial Manor. |
| Sims Named CIO of Ga. Department of Community Health Posted: 20 Jan 2010 06:09 AM PST Perry Sims has been appointed Chief Information Officer of the Georgia Department of Community Health (DCH, Atlanta) by Rhonda Medows, M.D., Commissioner and State Health Officer. Sims has been with DCH since October 2007, serving as Director of Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS). He was also the project executive for the Department’s new MMIS and part of DCH’s information technology leadership team for the MMIS implementation. Since joining DCH, Sims has been instrumental in improving operational support of the Department’s legacy MMIS and helping to shape the Department’s strategic objectives towards several other healthcare technology initiatives. Sims, who served in the U.S. Air Force for 24 years, earned a B.A. from the University of Southern Mississippi and a Master of Public Administration from Auburn University at Montgomery. |
