Elsevier's Procedures Consult Mobile Brings Procedural Videos and Illustrations to Smartphones

Elsevier, perhaps best known as a publisher of scientific and medical works, announced today the launch of its Procedures Consult Mobile smartphone application. The app, which can be accessed either by an iPhone app or from a mobile browser on non-Apple smartphones, provides videos and information about medical procedures which doctors can review before performing a procedure.

Procedures Consult Mobile provides web-enabled smartphones with access to expert videos, "quick review" text and illustrations, checklists and universal protocol content for every procedure - all presented within a user interface optimized for smartphone web browsers. The mobile site allows clinicians who may not have studied or conducted a procedure for a period of time the ability to prepare for, perform and follow-up on the most common procedures required in today's hospital setting.
