Japanese Clinician's App Receives Neurological Images for Doctors During Emergencies

hqbf34.jpgClinicians at Tokyo's Jikei University Hospital now have their own iPhone application to receive tomographic scans of brain aneurysms of incoming stroke patients. Now physicians can provide professional consults on patients from the convenience of their home, and without the delay of having to first get to the hospital. Developed by Dr. Hiroyuki Takao of the hospital's neurosurgery department, the software is on its way to other hospitals with the help of commercialization partner Fujifilm Corp.
