Through the implementation, the Health System looks to create a filmless and paperless central database and radiology image repository for securely sharing patient imaging data throughout the enterprise, according to the company. The roll-out of GE Centricity RIS/PACS will begin later this month, and is expected to be live at all 10 of LSU’s 10 hospitals within a year. The implementation will supplement LSU’s Health Information Exchange (LSU-HIE), which will enable all LSU patient records to be available at any hospital in the system, says the company.
