GetWellNetwork:New Animated Bedside System for Kids

Bethesda, Md-based GetWellNetwork , Inc., introduced GetWell Town, an Interactive Patient Care system that delivers kid-friendly patient education, entertainment options and communication tools at the bedside. This new version of GetWellNetwork helps children’s hospitals engage pediatric patients and their families in the care process and features an animated character named Moti that welcomes and guides patients in using the system, says the company. GetWellNetwork, Inc. is a provider of Interactive Patient Care (IPC) solutions that actively engage patients in the care process to drive performance improvements in quality, service, operational efficiencies and new revenue opportunities. Currently operating live at more than 10,000 hospital beds around the country, GetWellNetwork provides patients and families with access to comprehensive education, home-like entertainment options, and services through the in-room television.

UMass Memorial Picks Ambulatory EHR/PM for Community Docs

UMass Memorial Health Care (Worcester, Mass) picked the Chicago-based Allscripts EHR and Practice Management solution as the preferred solution for private physicians in its community, including the nearly 2,000 physicians affiliated with the health system. The Allscripts EHR includes two days of onsite training, one day of post-implementation training, and one day of customization. In addition, says the company, UMass Memorial will connect the Allscripts solution to its other information systems to provide electronic orders and results as an integral part of the solution. UMass Memorial is the clinical partner of University of Massachusetts Medical School and the largest healthcare system in Central and Western Massachusetts.   The system includes UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Mass. and four community hospitals: Clinton Hospital in Clinton; HealthAlliance Hospital in Leominster and Fitchburg; Marlborough Hospital in Marlborough, and Wing Memorial Hospital in Palmer, MA.

Centegra Inks Deal for Enterprise EMR, Rapid Implementation

Centegra Health System (McHenry, Ill.) selected GE ’s (Barrington, Ill.) Centricity Enterprise Electronic Medical Record (EMR), an integrated clinical, financial and administrative healthcare IT solution. Centegra will adopt the GE Centricity Enterprise digital day one offering for rapid implementation, says the company, which includes pre-configured clinical templates for best practices in clinical workflows. Centegra will begin the implementation of GE’s integrated line of Centricity solutions immediately, it adds. Centegra Health System serves the greater McHenry County region of northern Illinois and includes hospitals in McHenry and Woodstock, Ill., as well as several outpatient facilities.   Centegra Health System was formed when Memorial Medical Center in Woodstock and Northern Illinois Medical Center in McHenry joined forces. Centegra serves the greater McHenry County region of northern Illinois. Centegra Health System has Level II Trauma Centers and Level II nurseries at both of its medical centers.
