iTriage Makes You a Neighborhood Medical Local

Posted: 06 Apr 2009 01:00 AM PDT

Healthagen, LLC has created an iPhone application, called iTriage, that integrates clinical information with geolocational data, designed to empower patients to make better health decisions, and to get appropriate help, whether you are in emergency or preparing for a routine surgery. The software features a plethora of information about conditions and procedures, and a database of medical providers, like hospitals and pharmacies, based on your current iPhone's GPS location. But that is not all. The following is taken from the product features page:

A large, locally residing library of symptoms, diseases, and procedures with intuitive structure.
A methodology to direct users to the appropriate level of service (emergency department, urgent care clinic, retail clinic, or advice line) for specific medical conditions.
Structured web searching for disease specific information; these searches are done within the application allowing one to easily return and continue to use iTriage.
A programmed listing directory of all emergency departments, urgent care clinics, retail clinics, pharmacies, and specialists for disease specific referral.
Geolocational capabilities enabling users to easily locate and find the appropriate facilities closest to their location.
Access to additional information on healthcare facilities and providers including: informational videos, enhanced description of capabilities, links to appropriate web sites, and hours of operation.
Quality reports on facilities and physicians are easily obtained, and can be emailed directly to the user's smart phone.
Help negotiating medical bills through a partnership with one of the most respected claims adjudication organizations.
