| Atlanta Physician Group Extends EHR, EPM Licenses Posted: 22 Sep 2009 09:21 AM PDT Piedmont Medical Care Corporation (PMCC), the administrative arm of the non-cardiology physician practice entities of Piedmont Healthcare (PHC, Atlanta), has purchased 230 additional EHR and Enterprise Practice Management (EPM) software licenses from Horsham, Pa.-based NextGen Healthcare . According to the company, PMCC has utilized NextGen EPM since 2000 and NextGen EHR since 2004, and is currently deploying the NextMD patient portal. Since implementing the EPM, Piedmont reports several improvements, including increased physician and gross collection rates and a reduction in errors and associated costs. PMCC has also experienced a 75 percent decrease in patient calls to the central billing office, a 70 percent decrease in claim denials, and a 66 percent reduction in average days in A/R, says the company. PMCC is also using practice and provider feedback reports within NextGen Healthcare’s Health Quality Measures Portal to analyze performance against Bridges to Excellence measures for improved patient care and EHR documentation processes, it touts. |

NotifierRx is designed to help hospitals improve care and reduce readmissions by automating outpatient follow-up with interactive voice-controlled services, says the company. With this solution, patients receive a series of personalized reminders and queries. Their spoken responses are then automatically captured via Audiopoint’s Automatic Speech Recognition technology, it touts. |
